Known for evocative commercials, documentaries, and music videos,
Phil has directed films for clients like Adidas, Dior, FujiFilm, and Vogue and music videos for Black Lips, Diplo, and Bruno Mars, among others. An MTV Music Video Award winner, Phil was named The One Club for Creativity’s Young Gun and has been a guest critic at the Yale School of Art.
As a Producer, his film LAKOTA NATION VS. UNITED STATES premiered at Tribeca and was named a New York Times Critic's Pick. The film received two Emmy Awards for Best Documentary and Outstanding Documentary Direction, as well as the prestigious Television Academy Honor recognizing impact and storytelling excellence.
Previously, Phil was the Co-Producer of MLK/FBI, directed by Sam Pollard. The film received the Critics Choice Award for Best Historical Documentary and nominations from the IDA and Cinema Eye Honors. It was also included in the 2021 Academy Awards shortlist.
